As a result of years of teaching, Dr. Gottlieb has found that step-by-step and hands-on approaches are the most effective learning tools. The first edition of his book was written to appeal to practitioners, students, and instructors.

In the second edition Dr. Gottlieb added chapters for recently developed features. His book is written with Excel 2010 in mind. Every chapter has an appendix for Excel 2007, 2003, and MAC Excel 2011.

Next Generation Excel has hundreds of screen shot graphic illustrations. Every chapter has review questions at the end (with the answers!). Applying one's knowledge to various problems ensures that the reader truly understands the topics covered in each chapter of Next Generation Excel.
