Jamie Caldwell fell in love with writing when her first-grade teacher gave the class a short story assignment. She wrote a lighthearted horror story and read it before her fellow students. Jamie was delighted by the reactions of her classmates, who thoroughly enjoyed it, and also by the teacher’s somewhat horrified expression as she listened to this shy and quiet student read a tale about a porcelain doll that made demands at knifepoint.
Equally inspired by the reactions of the students and of her perplexed teacher, and with influences such as Stephen King and Frank Peretti, Jamie continued to write in the genres of horror, the supernatural, and fantasy.
Jamie has written a number of short stories and is the author of Veiled in Human Flesh, Death Dealer, and Sins of the Fathers, the first three young adult novels in the Jessie Kane series. She currently lives in the great state of Texas with her husband and two children.
