Paul Ramirez

Paul Ramirez, an independent writer/filmmaker, has been a strong advocate for Bilingual Latino media for over two decades. His first movie was a twenty-minute short film entitled Face Down. He studied Music Education while living in Corpus Christi, Texas shortly after he graduated from San Diego High School in 1978.

He has over thirty years of experience in creative development fields. He has written, directed, edited and produced a plethora of children's books, music albums, independent films, books and television programs. Mr. Ramirez has co-written over ten film scripts in all genres and he currently has over one hundred music compositions published with Just PR Music Publishing (BMI).

"The Adventures of Paleta Man" is his first Bilingual Children's book of a trilogy based on a screenplay. "The Adventures of Paleta Man: Secret of the Gold Medallion" is the second Bilingual Children’s book. "The Adventures of Paleta Man: Temple of the Sun" is the third Bilingual book.

"Machismo Gone Mad" is a criminal drama book based on actual events that occurred in South Texas in 1988. A young woman is persuaded into attending a Cockfight where she is gang-raped by several men. The district attorney on the case wants to prove that although Rosa had voluntarily gone to the cockfight that night, there was no reason for her to be so brutally attacked and that the men responsible should be brought to justice.

"The Curse De Oro" is an action/thriller book also based on actual events that follows a group of college students on a scavenger hunt for a lost treasure. Miguel wants to recover a family treasure that was left to him by his grandmother and buried long ago by Santa Anna’s Army while retreating back to Mexico from Texas. He & his friends make a two day road trip in search of the gold. Dangerous complications arise and there is plenty of greed, humor, danger & thrills and in the end satisfaction. The treasure hunt is halted when abnormal things begin happening. Everyone runs to escape, but there is nowhere to hide in the brush of South Texas.

"El Patron & The Bootlegger" is a Political drama book based on actual events that occured in a South Texas County when a trustworthy Mexican immigrant is befriended by a corrupt yet philanthropic Anglo Don and both men find the American Dream and friendship has a price after the Don fakes his own death, leaving behind the secrets of a political and criminal dynasty that gave a predominant senator the presidency.

Mr Ramirez now lives in South Texas, with his wife of 39 years and plays solo acoustic gigs and with his band "The Lost Vaqueros" at bigger venues.
