Arthur S. Mattson

Art Mattson is a life-long Long Islander and investment banker with a second career - historian, author, and lecturer. His published books are:

* "The History of Lynbrook" (Lynbrook Historical Books - 2005 and 2010)

* "Water and Ice: The Tragic Wrecks of the Bristol and the Mexico on the South Shore of Long Island" (Lynbrook Historical Books - 2009

Art and his wife Nori travelled extensively -- on their motorcycle -- in the U.S., England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales researching "Water and Ice."

He received the 2010 Joseph F. Meany Award for Excellence in New York State Maritime History. In November 2011, his book was featured in a two-page spread in Newsday.
