Micah Ballard

Micah Ballard was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and lives in San Francisco. He is the author of two full-length collections of poetry, Parish Krewes and Waifs and Strays, nominated for a California Book Award, and several small books including Absinthian Journal, Bettina Coffin, Evangeline Downs, Negative Capability in the Verse of John Wieners, as well as the collaborations Easy Eden, Death Race V.S.O.P., and Poems from the New Winter Palace. Ballard has given poetry readings at City Lights Bookstore, the San Francisco State Poetry Center, SOMArts, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church among others. He is co-editor for Auguste Press and Lew Gallery Editions, is on the editorial board for the Contemporary Poetry Series at UNO Press, and works for the MFA in Writing Program at the University of San Francisco.
