Sophus A. Reinert

Sophus A. Reinert is Professor of Business Administration in the Business, Government, and the International Economy Unit at Harvard Business School, where he has taught since 2011.

Reinert is a historian of business, capitalism, and political economy, currently focusing on the challenges of economic development in emerging markets. He received a BA from Cornell University (2003) and a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2009). Before joining HBS, he was a Carl Schurz Fellow at the University of Erfurt, a Fellow of the Luigi Einaudi Foundation in Turin, and a Research Fellow at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge.

He is presently writing a book on State Capitalism and one on Renaissance Economics.
