Lyz Cooper is a pioneer in therapeutic sound, with over 30 years’ experience in holistic health and more than two decades dedicated to sound therapy. Her journey began after a life-changing illness, when therapeutic sound and music helped her recover and set her on a lifelong path of research and discovery.
In 2000, she founded The British Academy of Sound Therapy, one of the first organisations in the world to offer professional training in therapeutic sound. Now expanding internationally, the Academy delivers award-winning courses and community health and arts projects.
Lyz’s work includes her contribution to Marconi Union’s Weightless, widely known as one of the world’s most relaxing pieces of music, and LifeSonics, her collection of consciously designed music and immersive sound experiences.
She holds an MA in Education and an MSc in Applied Music Psychology, and is a Fellow of the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine.
