Susan Vernon

Susan Vernon is a naturalist and nature writer who lives in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. She was executive director of The Whale Museum in Friday Harbor and co-founder of the San Juan Nature Institute. Susan has conducted wildlife surveys and consulted for the National Park Service, Washington Department of Wildlife, Washington Department of Natural Resources and the San Juan Preservation Trust. The naturalist continues her field studies in the archipelago most notably on the rare island marble butterfly.
