Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read this and learn a bit about me. I was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1960. I started reading at an early age, and then writing. I've always loved words. Words are beautiful and can be a powerful tool. And without them how could an author pass on their vision to others?. Last year my wife and I relocated to Upstate NY. I have been writing since I first learned my letters. I wrote my first short story (which I wish I still had) after seeing a film in class assembly (anyone remember those?) full of Bonestell paintings about the Planets. The story dealt with humans going to Mars and as, I recall, had an unhappy ending for the Martians (likely influenced by George Pal's unflattering view of Martians in his classic film, The War of the Worlds, one of my favorite movies.) Along with writing, I love movies about war, history, westerns, and fantasy but especially Science Fiction. I attended both Kingsborough Community College and Brooklyn College and did a stint of four and a half years in the Coast Guard, where I served in Alaska, Virginia and New York. It was in the last few years I made my first professional sales. I enjoy writing SF, Horror and Historical Fiction, But if an idea hit me, I wouldn't disregard other genres. I'm interested in breaking into screenplay and, possibly, comic writing. Among my major influences are Tolkien, Burroughs, Howard, Heinlein, Niven and Haldeman. I'm kept grounded in my life by my wife, Beverly and our dogs, a Yorkie/Unknown, whose name is Chewie and our other rescue a mostly Shih-Tzu, Shelly. I now have self-published three novels with Kindle; Undead Prometheus (about Frankenstein's creation), Enclave and Enclave 2: Hunters (zombie apocalypse); and two anthologies, Tales of a (Mostly) Dead Planet (various stories about zombies) and Passing of the Gods, which are fantasy, Sci-Fi and pulp influenced stories.
