Ramey Channell

Ramey Channell was born and grew up in rural Alabama. An award winning poet and author, her poems and short stories have appeared in Aura Literary Arts Review, Alalitcom, Birmingham Arts Journal, Ordinary and Sacred as Blood: Alabama Women Speak (1999), Belles’ Letters 2: Contemporary Stories by Alabama Women (2017), and many other journals and collections. She has received the Barksdale-Maynard Award for Creative Writing, the Thomas Brown Award for Poetry, and numerous awards from Alabama State Poetry Society. Ramey’s published novels are Sweet Music on Moonlight Ridge (2010) The Witches of Moonlight Ridge.(2016) and The Treasure of Moonlight Ridge (2021). Mice from the Planet Zimlac (2021) is Ramey's first published picture book for ages 2 - 6, available in French edition Les Souriceaux de la Planete Zimlac (2022)
