Dave Smith

Frequently known as Vargr23 among online and magical communities, Dave Smith has been studying and practicing magic in various forms for over 30 years. He was the founder of the Grove of Oakhaven, the Lawspeaker of the Northstar Kindred, and a founding elder of the Indiana Asatru Council. His articles and reviews have appeared in the journals Konton and Idunna, as well as on his website SpikeVision (www.spikevision.org).

He has indulged his lifelong love of information by working in a science library, an astronomical observatory, and as a data architect. Along the way, he has also been a brewer, leatherworker, performance artist, and sideshow crewman.

He graduated from Indiana State University in 1993, and currently lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.
