Susan E. Reed is an award-winning investigative journalist and columnist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic Online, The Financial Times Deutschland and GlobalPost.com.
Her business reporting has been supported by grants from The Alicia Patterson Foundation, The Pope Foundation, and The Dick Goldensohn Fund.
As a producer for CBS News for 13 years, Reed earned two national Emmys for outstanding coverage of the Bosnian war in 1995 and the attack on the USS Stark in the Persian Gulf in 1987. She has reported from 34 countries.
She studied at the Harvard law and business schools as a Nieman Fellow and then taught interviewing, investigative reporting, and the First Amendment at Harvard for six years. She graduated from Reed College with a B.A. in History and Literature and from New York's Columbia University with an M.S. in Journalism. She lives in the Boston area.
Reed has appeared as a guest speaker on C-Span, on WGBH-TV, at Harvard University, Boston University, New York University and at the Mid-Coast Forum on Foreign Relations.
