Robert Eli Rubinstein

Robert Eli Rubinstein, the son of Holocaust survivors from Hungary, was born in 1948 while his parents were trapped in a refugee camp near Torino, Italy. Brought to Canada by his parents as an infant, Mr. Rubinstein was educated at Ner Israel Yeshiva College and the University of Toronto, where he studied philosophy. His immigrant family transcended a tragic past to become highly respected and successful real estate developers in Canada, well known for their communal leadership and philanthropic activities. Mr. Rubinstein and his wife Renée, also a child of survivors, have four children and thirteen grandchildren.
