Oriana Oakleigh and the Dragon Danes by W.R. Cooper is the second
book of the series and Oriana is back. Alas, her home, beloved
Oakleigh Manor, is just not right. However, she will not stop her quest
to save the faerie world before it is to late by saving its Queen. As if
having to save a Queen and a people were not enough, Oriana is being
hunted by the Dragon Danes; they want her and her ivory basket. She
will not let them win, however, because she has friends and a purpose
to fulfill - the last instruction of Lord Whitethorn.
I have not read book one so I started with this one and WOW what a
fast moving, very full plot. There are many elements and lands and
myths blended into one with this book and I loved every moment of it.
You have intrigue and danger and Oriana is my kind of gal. No matter
what she has thrown at her, she is the kind of person who does not
give up; she still plugs on as she wants to fulfill her quest. Eye on the
prize is something I very much understand and enjoy. The flow of the
book is good and the twists come in the right spots for me. I truly do
enjoy the writing style that W.R. Cooper brings to the stage. I am
going to be going back and reading the first book (although this can
stand on its own)
