Jerry Byrne was born in 1958, in Summit, New Jersey. He is the 2nd youngest of six. After graduating from Villanova University in 1980 he began his career on Wall Street with the brokerage firm, Paine Webber. He started out on the Nasdaq trading desk and continued his accent up the ladder in trading & sales with various Wall St. firms for the next 20 years.
In December of '05 Byrne was indicted for securities fraud. Sixteen months later, in June of '07, he pled guilty & was sentenced in Manhattan Supreme Court for 2 1/3rd to 7 years. Led out of the court in handcuffs, Byrne begins his sentence. Beginning with a brutal 3 week stay at Rikers Island, where he is locked up 23 hours per day and washes his clothes in the bathroom sinks, used by the 49 other men is his dorm. From there Byrne is bussed to Downstate Correctional facility, in Fishkill, NY. Downstate CF is where prisoners get 'state ready' for their eventual move up North. On his 1st day here is head is shaved. Three weeks later he is shackled and once again gets on the DOC bus for the ride to Mohawk CF, in Rome NY. Eleven tough months later he is released. Byrne is the divorced father of 2 sons.
