Dipankar Sarkar

Dipankar Sarkar is a six-time founder, AI systems architect, and published author whose career spans two decades of building technology at the intersection of infrastructure, AI, and consumer products.

He currently runs Neul Labs, an open-source AI agent infrastructure company built on Rust, and Skelf Research Ltd, an independent AI research lab. He also co-directs the archeglyph project with Maitrayee Roychoudhury, exploring the intersection of AI and humanities scholarship.

Previously, Dipankar served as Principal AI Architect at Aveni Ltd, an FCA-regulated fintech company, where he designed and shipped production AI systems for financial services. Before that, he worked at Hike Messenger, one of India's most prominent consumer social platforms, and co-founded several ventures across fintech, logistics, and social media — including Kwippy, one of India's earliest micro-blogging platforms, and KiranaPro.

Dipankar has filed over 60 patents in AI and communication technologies across his career. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an M.S. in Computer Science from Arizona State University. He is a member of ACM and IEEE, and has published research spanning federated learning, distributed systems, and blockchain.

His technical work centres on Rust systems programming, multi-agent AI orchestration, and cryptographic attestation for AI systems. He has contributed to open-source projects including work recognised in the Solana ecosystem, and has presented at conferences on decentralised AI, machine learning fairness, and agent coordination.

Dipankar is the author of Nginx 1 Web Server Implementation Cookbook (Packt, 2011). He lives in St Andrews, Scotland.
