I write gothic romance reminiscent of the early authors of the genre, but my heroines have cell phones and Facebook--unless I'm writing historical gothics, of course. Then, no cell phones are allowed; instead, my heroines have to deal with uncomfortable gowns, opium loving heroes, family curses, and rutted roads. I've penned a couple of regular romances, but my characters usually want graveyards, murder, mouldering ancestral mansions, and isolated spaces.
