Virginia Ann Work is the author of 13 published books: 10 of these books are fiction novels and 3 are non-fiction. She enjoys writing historical fiction, mysteries and young adult books.
Raised in Washington state and educated at Multnomah Bible College (Multnomah University) in Portland OR, she served for 15 years with her husband in Canada as a missionary to the First Nations people. During this time, Dan and Virginia's three children were born, and Virginia wrote the five Jodi mystery books for teenage girls that were published by Moody Press. She has since re-written and published three of these novels: The Mystery of the Missing Message, The Secret in the Silver Box, and the Curse of the Broken Feather.
After a trip to Israel in 1999, Virginia had the idea of a medieval novel, set in France and Israel. After five years of research and travel, she wrote The Keys to the Kingdom Series which include: Sirocco Wind from the East, Mistral Wind from the North, Zephyr Wind from the West, and Lavento Wind from the South which completes the series with a fantastic, exciting climax. She also recently released a novel that is a companion to the book, Mistral Wind from the East. This historical novel takes place in Constantinople during the siege of that city by the Fourth Crusade. Based on true facts, Prince Alexius, His Crown and His Curse, has become a favorite.
She has written two detective/mystery novels set in Montana and Washington state that feature a young female detective and includes a bit of romance along with high adventure and suspense. These books are: Deadlocked and Deadwater. The third book in this series will be released soon. It is Deadeye.
She loves to study the Bible and has taught ladies Bible studies for many years, writing her own material. This past year, she got one of her highly acclaimed studies into publication. It is The End of the Beginning, A Bible Study on the Book of Revelation. This study includes a look at four chapters from the book of Daniel to set the scene and give a foundation for the prophecies found in Revelation. The series is A Digging Deeper Bible Study.
She ghost-wrote a devotional for a friend, Chris Boelter, entitled A Fear Not for Every Day, 365 Devotionals, written on the "fear nots" found in Scripture.
On any given day you might catch Virginia enjoying her garden, reading a book, painting a picture, or writing. Her favorite things to do to relax are: adult coloring, swimming, picnicking, hiking, and visiting via email and Facebook. She and her husband enjoy their 3 grown children and eight grand-children.
