Margie Walker - Bio
Margie has a new love - - film-making! See "In Blood Only", which I co-directed and wrote on vimeo and utube. A graduate of Houston area public schools, and except for a brief stint at Colorado State University (radio/television interest), I also attended Houston universities, as well, to Texas Southern (M.A., Speech Communication) and University of Houston (anthropology interest). Accomplishing a dream to work in all areas of communication include: Radio, Program Director at KTSU; Print, editor with the Houston Defender Newspaper and Style Magazine, and; Academia, Adjunct and Visiting Professor in the TSU School of Communications.
Another dream was to become a published author, which I can celebrate the fruition of ideas and characters beginning with LOVE SIGNALS (Marron Publishers, 1991) and pausing with “Curtains” in the mystery anthology WHERE THERE’S A WILL, (Dafina Books/Kensington Publishers, 2004). I restarted publishing with ebook mystery A SLICE OF REPARATIONS (2011), ebook romantic suspense IN BLOOD ONLY (also title of my short) and STOLEN MOMENTS (2013), with both an ebook and trade. I've added screenplays to my writing repertoire and won the 2012 Moondance Competition with the short TRYIN' TIMES, currently in post-production.
I live with my husband, Sherman, and our oldest son’s blue-eyed, white Siberian husky, Isis.
