Dave Magrogan, a 38-year-old native of Brookhaven, PA, is the mastermind behind Dave Magrogan Group (DMG), the parent company to four wildly successful restaurant concepts: Kildare’s Pubs, Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House, Mas Mexicali Cantina and Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar. Dave has opened 15 restaurants - five of which opened in 2010. As Owner & CEO of DMG, Magrogan is recognized as a leader in the restaurant industry. An aggressive promoter, savvy publicist, sought after motivational speaker, and dynamic public speaker, he offers experience in concept creation, planning, marketing and business development.
Magrogan first realized his passion for the restaurant industry while working as a dishwasher at the Lobster Pot in Media, PA. For the next several years, he worked various positions including server, bartender, cook and manager. Magrogan now boasts years of experience in the restaurant industry and has held positions in all levels of operations and management. While working in the restaurant industry, Magrogan received a Pre-Med degree from West Chester University and a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta. He went on to build two of the largest family practices in Pennsylvania and treated over 800 patients a week.
Although his chiropractic business was successful, Magrogan never lost his passion for the restaurant industry. In 2003, he made a bold decision to pursue his dream and founded DMG. Six months later, he sold his practices and began creating the authentic Irish pub experience known today as Kildare’s Pubs. Magrogan opened his first location in West Chester, Pennsylvania in May of 2003. His love for Ireland and authentic Irish cuisine led him to open additional pubs from Chapel Hill, North Carolina to the University of Notre Dame and Penn State University - making Kildare’s the official tailgate location for many colleges on the east coast. In October 2006, Magrogan established his second concept, Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House, in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Expanding his oyster house concept, Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House in Dover Downs Casino quickly became an award-winning establishment. In March of 2010, he opened Mas Mexicali Cantina - his rock & roll Mexican inspired bar. After researching a number of bars on the west coast, Dave’s inspirations won Mas the title of Best Renovation from Main Line Today. Most recently, he launched the fresh & organic Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania and won Best New Restaurant from Open Table. With a seasonally changing menu, Harvest offers customers locally-grown options under 500 calories including many vegetarian dishes.
