Judy MacDonnell

Judy MacDonnell was born in 1956. She grew up in various islands of the South Pacific, where her parents taught in local schools. From an early age Judy delighted in books, and before long she was also writing. She became a physiotherapist, and worked in the USA, England and Saudi Arabia where she met and married her husband, a Canadian engineer. When Judy and her husband left Arabia in 1998 they bought a sailing catamaran and took out residency in the island nation of Vanuatu. For the best part of the next ten years they sailed in the islands, and assisted in medical work in remote communities. Judy did two writing courses by correspondence and began publishing her books in 2011, beginning with "Houses of Sand," an account of life in Saudi Arabia. Now Judy lives with her husband and her parents in Brisbane, Australia.
