Lloyd Casey (1926 - )was born in Anaheim, CA. He, his father, mother and four brothers moved to Moapa, NV in 1933 where they lived in a railroad building for three years before moving to Las Vegas, NV. Lloyd dropped out of high school after his junior year in 1944 and enlisted in the navy. He served on a destroyer as a radioman in the South Pacific. His father insisted he go to a Catholic college in 1946 because he was told he was losing his religion. He graduated from St. Vincent college in Latrobe, PA in 1950. He selected St. Vincent college because when the Benedictines founded it they established a brewery.
Lloyd and his wife Grace, now married 62 years, have five sons and two daughters, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In 1980, 1990 and 2000 he wrote memories of family experiences and gave each child/adult a copy. In 2006 at a family gathering to celebrate his and Grace's 80lth birthdays he learned only one of the seven knew where he kept the writings of '80, '90 and '00. He decided to publish all of those writings and add more in a book which would make it easy for them to keep his writing.
He never had a career but managed to always provide enough of food, shelter,
clothing, education and medical care for the seven who are now from age 61 to 42. His jobs included public school teaching, year book sales, insurance sales, a master's degree in theology, adult education for Catholics, data sales, audience development for a symphony orchestra, purchasing in a high tech corp, quality engineer in a high tech corp and four years as a state senator in Colorado. He considers his life a comedy of errors.
