Tuffy was raised in West Philadelphia. He became involved in the street life and ended up serving time in the federal detention center. Spending time in jail forced Tuffy to reevaluate the direction of his life and the decision he was making. He concluded that the street hustle was not worth all that he stood to loose so he decided to switch his hustle from bricks to books. He choose to invest in Tuff In Publications, a company that would be geared towards assisting people who come from the streets and are striving for other avenues to make money. Previously, he has invested his time and money into various ventures, both legal and illegal, but is now assured that Tuff Ink is his best investment yet.
His life experiences served as a foundation for the stories he create. Despite the fact that his books are fiction, readers are able to identify with the plots and descriptions of his stories because they are so realistic. Although Tuffy is new to the literary scene he plans for longevity in the industry.
