Christopher Metcalf

Christopher Metcalf is an Oklahoma-based author. He is the creator of the Lance Priest / Preacher spy-thriller series. These include The Perfect Candidate, The Perfect Weapon, The Perfect Angel, en el Medio, The Perfect Patriot and the Perfect Teacher.

He loves when people he has never met ask him "what's happening with Preacher?"

An avowed spy thriller junkie, Chris asked himself a couple of decades ago after reading a John LeCarre novel -- "what is the perfect spy?" It only took him 20 years to get around to writing his answer to that question. Funny how life and love and jobs and kids (lots of kids) and decades get in the way of writing a novel. Getting a book published is a whole 'nother thing. Self-publishing is a very exciting new frontier.

Chris is married to the beautiful and wonderful and supportive and ever-smiling Diana. They have five adult children and one grandchild (so far, no pressure guys). When he's not writing, Chris is a sales and solution engineering professional. He hopes to do a whole lot more writing, including finishing the next book in the Lance Priest series and several children's books currently in various draft states.

He published Such Beautiful Danger, a collection of iPhone Notes short stories written on many airplanes, in 2021.

In 2011, he published Barkley's Sandbar Christmas Miracle, a holiday children's book featuring a huge black and white spotted Great Dane.

He has also written six un-produced screenplays and is working on the first draft of the screenplay for The Perfect Candidate. Maybe self-moviemaking is next...
