Deborah Alexander

Deborah Alexander has been writing and teaching over the last twenty or so years. She has written travel articles for magazines, poetry and story-writing guidelines for teachers and also children's stories. Her story 'Amina and the Shell' was published by Tamarind/Random House in 2008.

Deborah started as a primary school teacher but went on to teach students of a variety of ages and nationalities in both England and France.

Alex Deviny is a pen name Deborah uses for the most recent of her children's books, such as 'Camilla and the Cape of Kindness'.

In a new development, Deborah is illustrating these children's books herself, based on the Art training she received many years previously. She has kept up her art skills, mainly in watercolour and ink pen, and is enjoying putting these to good purpose.
