Earle Kirkbride

A long-time employee of the Federal Government, Earle Kirkbride retired from the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D. C. in 1985 where he was superintendent of the Technical Information Division for the previous ten years. After moving to Florida in 1990, he spent 13 summers in the mountain west “playing cowboy” for the US Forest Service in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Washington, and Oregon. During that time he wrote articles for and about the Forest Service and free lanced articles for niche publications.

Letters Home is based on letters written by the late Norma Jean Cone. Dutifully saved by Norma Jean’s mother, the letters have been lightly edited and annotated by her husband, Earle Kirkbride.
