Kate Barker was born in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1967 to two Brits. Always a writer, she went back to school at 30 to try to figure out a way to make a living doing what she loves. (Her life as a playwright was short-lived and non-lucrative.) Now a magazine writer and editor with several National Magazine Awards under her belt, she also teaches at Ryerson University's School of Journalism in Toronto. Her short story "The Applicant" was first published in 1999. Stay tuned for her novel, "The Drowning," coming soon to Kindle.
