Gordon MacLeod

Gordon Ian MacLeod is an author and playwright who lives in Chester.

In the summer of 2026 he signed a three book publishing contract with Provoco Publishing and his novel, ‘Parallel Experiences,’ a psychological techno thriller, will be published by them in 2027.

His new novel, ‘M.E.G.A. (Ascent of a Nation),’ a dystopian work of fiction, about England on the cusp of its descent into authoritarianism, has just been submitted to them for consideration too.

In July 2026, he released his tenth novel, 'Raise the Gangway.'

In 2025, he released his eighth novel, 'An t-Eilean Dorcha (The Dark Island),' a place where the wind tells stories, the land remembers everything, and change is coming. It is a humorous novel, about the wind rush, where a small island community face a wind farm development on their island. It documents their often unconventional response to it.

This was preceded by a new work of historical fiction, a novella/short novel called, 'Proscription'. This tells the story of a small child, who is caught up in the events of the bloody massacre of Glencoe. It looks at how this traumatic experience in early life, defined the man he was to become and takes us on through the two Jacobite uprisings.

In August of 2025, Gordon also released a new book of Plays, 'More Arran Dramas'.

In 2022, the Greyhill (R) Multi-media Arts and Theatre production and distribution company, produced one of his Plays taken from his 2017 edition of, 'Arran Dramas,' called, 'Where Did All the Flowers Come From?' as an audio drama.

-A talk about his work will take place at 'Books on the Walls' bookshop in Chester on the 7th of February, 2026.

-He will be one of the local authors appearing at the Storyhouse in Chester on the 16th of May, 2026.

-He is due to be interviewed on the 'Fitz of Writing' podcast in the United States, broadcast on Youtube on the 22nd of July, 2026.
