STAN STAMPER (1953--) was born in Hugo, Ok. (6/29) and began his writing and aviation career in Dec. 1974 after completing a degree in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. He and his wife Judy purchased the family's newspaper publishing company in 1980 and continue that half-century legacy to this day. As Publisher of the Hugo News Stamper has accumulated a number of writing and publishing awards. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame in June, 2012. Outside of newspaper publishing, Stamper is an accomplished aviator. He served for 18 years as a member of the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission and the City of Hugo named its new airport "Stan Stamper Municipal Airport" in 1984. Stamper holds a number of FAA flight ratings, including multi-engine, commercial and Flight Instructor. He was named Oklahoma Aviator of the Year in 1996. Stamper published his first adventure novel in July, 2010 (Danger Diva) which was nominated for Book of the Year at Powell's Books. His second thriller, RISK IT ALL was published on July 5, 2011 and his third... The Burn List was published in 2012. Stamper has recently completed construction of a new family Winery — Stamper Vineyards — and enjoys most outdoor sports. Stan and Judy are the parents of one son, Brian, who, along with his wife Elizabeth, are the proud parents of two gifted children, Bailey and Abbey.
