Gregory W. Rome

Gregory W. Rome is an attorney, author, former software engineer, and father of three amazing girls. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science, a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance, and a Juris Doctor degree with a certificate in civil law. He served as longtime law clerk to the Honorable Kirk A. Vaughn, Louisiana 34th Judicial District Court, and practiced law for a decade. Today Rome holds an IT business leadership role at a Fortune 500 company where he focuses on complex technology transactions, including software licensing agreements and global outsourcing contracts.

Rome is deeply passionate about Louisiana’s civil law tradition and is dedicated to making complex legal concepts and the state’s unique legal heritage accessible to students and practitioners alike. He is the author of Civil Law Property Outline & Case Briefs, co-author of the Louisiana Civil Law Dictionary, helped found the Civil Law Commentaries journal while attending Tulane Law School, and served on the journal’s inaugural editorial board.
