Clair Holland

Clair Holland is the nom-de-plume of the psychologist Fiona Beddoes-Jones.

"I wrote Jane Eyre's Rival: The Real Mrs Rochester under a pen-name as I didn't want to confuse my corporate business clients! There are some quite intimate scenes within the novel between our hero and heroine, and it was important for me to be able to keep the different parts of my life; the personal and the professional, separate.

The voice you hear in Jane Eyre's Rival is not my academic, professional voice, it's the voice I save for my daughter, my friends and the people I love and care about. I wanted to share those elements of passion and compassion with you, the reader, in the hope that I could, through writing directly to you, in some small way, make a positive contribution to the quality of your life".
