Joe McCoubrey writes the kind of action thrillers you don't put down — fast, ruthless, and packed with characters who refuse to play it safe. He should know. His first job out of college was selling car parts In Belfast. Day one, he walked out for a coffee break and never went back. Within a few years he was inside Stormont, the seat of the Northern Ireland Government, watching the early days of the Troubles unfold from a front-row seat. The world was on fire — and Joe wanted to write about it.

So he did. He joined a local newspaper, climbed to editor, and co-founded an agency feeding stories to national papers and broadcasters. Decades of deadlines, breaking news, and razor-sharp storytelling followed. It was the perfect apprenticeship for a thriller writer.

When retirement came, Joe finally chased the dream he'd been holding back: writing full time. His debut, Someone Has to Pay, hit hard. A short story Death by Licence landed him in an anthology beside some of the biggest names in the genre.
