I am amazingly intelligent and devastatingly handsome. My worst trait is my inability to toot my own horn as a result of my shyness and modesty.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where I have lived for the past 30+ years. I have been married to my wife, Debbie, for the past 16 years. I have worked as a schoolteacher, retail store manager, jewelry maker, short order cook, courier, landscaper, traveling storyteller and as a clown.

Debbie has been a brain cancer survivor for almost ten years now and is the main character in my first book, Nine Years After. The title refers to the time period between my wife's diagnosis and the time I began to write about it.

I believe in the power of love, the deep down goodness of my fellow humans, and in the power of righteousness and good deeds to overcome evil. I do not believe in the Tooth Fairy or in the theory of trickle down economics. I do believe in a Higher Being, how music can help us transcend this mortal plain, and that nothing beats holding hands with your special lover while walking through a light summer rain.

I continue to live and care for Debbie in our small but comfortable mountain home. I hope to be able to do so for a very long time.
