Bernardette Costa

Bernardette Gallagher Costa grew up on a farm in central New Jersey, the middle child in a family of seven children. She graduated from Middlesex County College with a degree in Social Science and then went on to earn a Geology degree and teaching certification from Cook College, a subsidiary of Rutgers University. For the next eight years, Bernardette taught high school science at Lakewood High School. She then moved to New Hampshire and continued to work in the field of education while honing her writing skills. Her first book, a children's picture book, entitled "The Six Colorful Annies" was published in 2010. Her second book, published in 2013, is a photo memoir entitled, "My Alaska Klondike Adventure Along the Chilkoot Trail".

Most recently she has completed a middle grade fiction adventure story under the pen name B. Costa. This novel takes place in Franconia Notch in New Hampshire in the shadow of the Old Man Of the Mountain.
