Archie Cameron (1935) was born in London but after his parents lost their home in the Blitz eventually moved to Shropshire. Educated at Adam's Grammar School Newport he left and together with his parents went to Egypt where his father had been posted with the Civil Service. He returned to U.K in 1956 he was called up for National Service in the Royal Marines. On leaving the Royal Marines he joined the Police and served for thirty one years in Buckinghashire Constabulary and the City of London Police . Retiring from the police service in 1989 he was appointed as a Director with a communications company, was a joint partner in a management company and on retiring permanently in 1999 moved to France with his late wife. He now spends his time writing and traveling between France and U.K visiting his four children and six grandchildren. Archie won an International Police Association Scholarship in 1969 where he studied the computer control of traffic in Munich Germany.
