Michael Pickering

Michael Pickering is Professor of Media and Cultural Analysis in the Department of Social Sciences at Loughborough University. He has published over ninety articles and chapters in edited collections, covering such areas as popular music, racism and popular culture, imperialism and theatrical history, Mass Observation, working-class writing, news and documentary, stereotyping and representation, humour and comedy, creativity and cultural production, media and memory, historical hermeneutics, and research methodology in the social sciences. He is currently working on a book entitled Creative Memory with Emily Keightley, and a study of music in the workplace with Marek Korczynski and Emma Robertson, to be published by Cambridge University Press.
