Dan Anthony

Dan writes scripts and books for grown ups and children. People say his work is funny, quirky and interesting - he thinks that that's just the way things are.

His latest book, Submarine Spies and the Unspeakable Thing, is available now. It's a spy story from West Wales - Caitlin thinks she's rescuing a dog with a sore paw, in fact she's stumbled upon a mystery so strange, that nobody can bring themselves to talk about it.

Dan began writing for children after working as a scriptwriter for CBBC's Tracy Beaker series. His first series, The Rugby Zombies stories, have been big hit - particularly with boys, although he's always pointing out that it's really a girl who sorts the zombies out in the end. His 'Steve's Dreams' series is a hilarious adventure, aimed at young readers from about 7 to 11. Steve's a bit of a worrier - when he goes out, he sees danger. But at night he dreams himself into a hero. Perhaps dreams are more important than we realise.

The Bus Stop at the End of the World is set in Wales' most remote bus stop - here strange forces from the mysterious past step arrive by bus to save the world. Can it be done?

The Last Big One is Dan's first YA book. Clint is in big trouble. Can he sort things out... with a horse?

Dan was born in Cardiff in 1964. He tours the country visiting schools and colleges. His workshops on zombies, dreams and creative writing are inspirational.
