Feeling the need to continue writing after retiring from my post as Research Engineer, I've had many stories and poems published in the local press. Very positive feed-back has encouraged me to combine my medieval stories into a series of novels.
The first of these: 'Jack o' Beans', relates the adventures of a wayward lad who dreams of becoming a soldier in Dudley Castle. This results in him being chased across a medieval landscape that is still recognisable today, in spite of the ravages of the Industrial Revolution.
Researching these projects has prompted many and repeated site-visits. I've also found it very rewarding to become an active member of the re-enactors who perform in the ruins of Dudley Castle and The Priory.
The experience is very enjoyable . . . as I hope 'Jack o' Beans' will be for you, dear potential reader.
Good Undrentide (arfternoon)to thee. (ah'm)
