David Burton

Hi All,

Welcome to my author page.

In my youth, I traveled by motorcycle through Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and Alaska. From the open road, I eventually turned to the ocean, building and sailing my own boats to Mexico, Tahiti, Hawaii, and through the Panama Canal to Florida. I spent countless hours reading while at sea, which inspired me to write the kinds of books I would have wanted with me on the water.

Having “swallowed the anchor,” I now mop floors and collect trash for money, write for a living, and remain a temporarily unrequited sailor.

Many of my books involve the ocean, adventure, or survival. Girl at Sea, a YA and adult coming-of-age story, has been revised and is available in both e-book and print.

My mystery and adventure titles include Programed for Murder and its sequel Programed for Love.

My thriller catalog includes Mapping the Glades, a fast-paced crime thriller set in the Everglades with elements of suspense, manhunt, action, and atmospheric danger—a story for readers who enjoy wilderness survival thrillers and Jack Reacher–style suspense.

I also write supernatural adventure thrillers. Soul Retrievers and Warn the Devil explore a gritty, otherworldly journey—an action-driven descent into darkness.

The Blood Justice series—Blood Justice, Blood on the Water, and Blood on the Bayou—delivers contemporary vampire suspense with a strong sense of place and history. Simone Gireaux, a 360-year-old vampire, appears in novels and novellas including An Accidental Vampire, New Blood, Young Blood, and Broken Bones. These interconnected stories follow her through centuries, ultimately leading to her alliance with Justine Kroft in Blood Justice.

My sci-fi vampire mystery novella, Down Home, features Simone in a future setting and is available in e-book and paperback.

I have also written several screenplays.
