Vivienne Savill first started her career in health care as a student nurse some 30 years ago. Vivienne quickly learnt that working in main stream medicine was primarily about disease management and not health care. Patching people up without teaching them how to make lifestyle changes meant that most people were discharged only to go home to resume the very lifestyle that had made them sick in the first place. Whilst acknowledging that modern medicine does have its place, Vivienne decided that preventative medicine would be a much more satisfying career path that could potentially change the lives of thousands of people.
Vivienne went on to work in the fitness industry, before attaining university qualifications in Leisure Management, Naturopathy and Complementary Medicine.
Says Vivienne,
"I remember as a nurse, visitors used to comment that my job must be so rewarding. The truth was, I felt no rewards working in the mainstream medicine environment where all we seemed to do was give out pills. But in my current role as a Natural Health Practitioner and author, I get rewarded every time that a patient tells me that they have changed their diet, started to exercise or are taking steps to improve their health in some way".
Vivienne has now combined her two passions, natural medicine and writing, to produce the book series, How to Get Healthy Naturally. Each book in the series brings to the reader the latest health research that is presented in an easy to understand & useable format. Writing about different health issues, Vivienne explains each health problem, its causes and risk factors, what tests to get done plus the nutritional, lifestyle and natural medicine techniques to improve health. To make the transitional to better health easier, the books also contain delicious & easy health recipes.
These books are empowering and motivate the reader to take back control of their health and their life.
