Matthew Kerry's latest book is ‘Your Career in the Media & Creative Industries: Building Employability Skills' (2023). This is a co-authored text book written with Georgia Stone. The authors have over 50 years combined experience of teaching media practice and employability.
‘Your Career in the Media & Creative Industries: Building Employability Skills’ guides students towards a career in the media and creative industries and supports them through work experience and placements.
Their other co-authored book ‘Introducing Media Practice' (2018) explains how adding theory to practice improves media projects, and shows how to develop the kind of project skills graduates need for a career in the creative and media industries.
Matthew Kerry's monograph 'The Holiday and British Film' (2012) brings together two of his research interests - the social history of the British holiday and a long-standing enthusiasm for popular British cinema.
Matthew’s chapter ‘Claiming the Suburbs: Children and the Children’s Film Foundation in Post-war British Cinema’ is included in the edited collection 'Filmurbia: Screening the Suburbs' (2017) by David Forrest, Graeme Harper and Jonathan Rayner.
He also has a chapter about the films of Desmond Davis and Edna O'Brien in the book 'Narratives of Place in Literature and Film' (2019) edited by Steven Allen and Kirsten Mollegaard.
