This journey began with Lucky 13 in 2004. I was just twenty-three years old. I didn't know what I was doing—all I knew was I had a story to tell. I learned so much in those early days of drafts and rewrites. It's a humbling process, sending your labor of love to an editor, only to see it returned to you with page after page of red-ink marks. But I've learned a lot in the last twenty years and my love of storytelling has grown more with every word I write.
All my books take place in the same universe. That means events in one story will create ripple effects in others. Worldbuilding is a wonderous challenge in its own right and it's a true joy when puzzle pieces fall into place. Here's the reading order so you know where to begin:
- Lucky 13
- The Lighthouse
- Redemption
- The Legend of the Blade
- forgotten gods
- Nadia (coming soon!)
These stories unfold all throughout the world and in very different periods: New York City, Chicago, and Paris in the early 21st century, the feudal days of Japan many centuries ago, a trek in the Amazon rainforest in our modern-day, the what-if happenings of a near future in the 2030s and beyond.
Join me on this journey. I hope you enjoy reading these books as much as I love writing them for you.
