Do you have a dream? For as long as I can remember, mine was to be an author. But you know how it is... life gets in the way, doesn't it? Suddenly you have responsibilities and you have to earn some steady money. So after spells in engineering, tourism and social work, I became a Mathematics teacher - and I loved it (published five books of investigations and puzzles too).
But all the time, the dream was calling so I just kept trying and eventually the breakthrough came. Thank you, Beth of Local Legend Publishing, for believing in me.
After a novel and two non-fiction books, I published the most important piece of writing I had done so far. 'Broken Sea' is an historical romantic novel, a fictionalised account of personal experiences in 1968 at the height of the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Warsaw Pact. It is both a passionate love story and a plea for personal and national identity and freedom of self-expression. We must never forget those dramatic days and we must learn from them if humanity is ever to find a peaceful way of life.
This book means everything to me so I hope you enjoy it. But there's more...
The book introduces the characters of Eva and Roy and, a little while later, I found that they were whispering in my mind that their story was not over. After all, in the worlds of spirit, love is Unbroken. I let the idea swirl around in my unconscious for a couple of years until, at last, my father visited in a vivid lucid dream and told me to "Get on with it, for heaven's sake!" By now, Eva and Roy were fully alive and told me exactly what to write - it was finished in three months.
'The Unbroken' is a story of deep spiritual love and an adventure in the mysterious worlds of the mind. I have poured into it everything I have learned in a lifetime of studying the paranormal and consciousness, and the book gently asks the reader to question all our commonly accepted beliefs about spirituality. The narrative is driven by the characters themselves and by the spirits of the trees where I meditate each evening - and I have no idea where some of the extraordinary twists in the story came from!
This book is for everyone who, like me, yearns to know the truth about our extraordinary minds and beautiful spirits. But at the same time, I really hope it entertains you!
Whilst paranormal phenomena play a part in all my writing, my first non-fiction book was indeed about precognitive dreams... 'Spirit Revelations' tells the story of my real-life extraordinary dreams, proving with documented evidence that we can see the future and receive genuine information without our normal five senses. With descriptions of hundreds of amazing synchronicities too, this book shows that everyone (yes, YOU too) can receive valuable spiritual guidance in our everyday lives. After all, life is tough these days, especially if you are trying to live a good and spiritual one, and we all need some help from time to time.
I am both proud and humbled (if you know what I mean) to say that the world-renowned scientist Dr Rupert Sheldrake has endorsed this book as "...vivid and fascinating...pioneering research..." and that it was runner-up in The People's Book Prize national awards. Just by the way, I have degrees in Science and Philosophy and have always lived very much in the real world: these spiritual phenomena are recorded, carefully analysed and evidential. My dream now is that everyone may understand the extraordinary power of human consciousness, for this brings purpose, meaning and joy to our lives.
But hey, spiritual life doesn't always have to be so serious! We all need to relax and to laugh, and another part of my dream is to entertain you with comedy writing. My first novel was 'Signs Of Life', an energetic romp through Heaven and Earth in which a disparate group of interesting souls newly-arrived in the afterlife discover that the Angels have a Grand Plan for humanity... But it's a very, very bad plan just begging to be sabotaged... Here you will find car chases, roulette, SEx (but not as you know it) and the delivery of fish. Oh yes, and a nice dog.
This book was also second in a national New Fiction competition and I hope that you will find it very funny. But there's that underlying message again too, that - in the face of so much superficial, uninformed and unconsidered writing these days about life and death - perhaps we all need to be a bit more thoughtful...
Final words: my book 'Lighting The Path' is a down-to-earth guide on using the wonderful I Ching oracle for yourself (it's easy, honest), with many true examples of readings and the first-ever comprehensive glossary of its symbolic language, whilst 'Blood' is a collection of short stories of love and the paranormal (maybe best not to read it in bed, unless you're prepared for some very strange dreams!).
My books are published in paperback and as eBooks (on all platforms), and you can read extracts and more on my website.
Never give up on your dreams!
