I don't know about you, but I cherish traveling the English countryside with friends. From Northumberland to Devon, there is so much to discover and enjoy. My friends, with whom I stay when I visit, are generous, fun, and have become like family. I appreciate their hospitality, great Sunday roast dinners, walks to the town square, and their rigorous manuscript reviews. I love reading and writing English cozies and I hope you enjoy reading them too.
Taking tea is one of my favorite things to do. Whether the first cup of the morning, (oh my it's grand), a happy four o'clock cuppa, or out with friends, it refreshes and adds delight to the day. My travels with dear friends in England, no matter what part of the country we're in, always include "a spot of tea" somewhere in our day. We've enjoyed cream teas at Kensington Palace's L'Orangerie, a bracing cuppa at the local shop on Woodley Square, tea and cakes at a tiny tearoom in Abbotsbury, Dorset, and Border Cake at Bambrough Castle way up North. All of it has fed inspiration into my latest mystery series that centers on a rural English teashop.,Tibbyhill Lane Tea Shop Mysteries abound with great cakes, buns, and plenty of intrigue to go with them. Poppy Ellis is a determined, thoughtful, and exuberant young woman who has a nose for solving crime. And the cherry on the fairy cake?, A romance appears to be brewing.
I hope you have as much fun reading the exploits of Berdie Elliott, the vicar's wife in a small English village, and Poppy Ellis, teashop sleuth, as much as I love bringing them to you.
Cheers, Marilyn
