John A. Schettler

John Schettler has been writing and publishing professionally since 1980.

John Schettler is a prolific writer who has penned 120+ novels over the last 20 years. He specializes in historical military fiction with time travel (or alternate history), and Military Science Fiction & Space Opera. Among John’s expansive backlist of books, are his bestselling Kirov Naval Fiction Series that contains 70 linked books, and the award winning “Meridian” series quintet.

He is presently writing The Earthforce Saga, an expansive space opera built for readers who want serious military sci-fi on a galactic scale.

John Schettler graduated from Loyola University with a degree in English (writing emphasis.) After graduation he served as a volunteer teacher for three years in Alaska where he taught native Eskimo students at St. Mary’s Mission near the Yukon River delta.

John has also designed numerous historical military simulation games in both the board and computer gaming industry, including four featured games for Decision Games in the industry leading magazine Strategy & Tactics.
