From Silicon Valley corporate attorney to mentoring expert and middle leader advocate, Ann Tardy has never met an insignificant leader. Ann specializes in mobilizing leadership, evolving workforces, and mentoring as a best-in-class, strategic advantage. She has sparked mentoring and revitalized leadership in companies such as Pacific Gas & Electric, Kaiser Permanente, and Scotts Miracle Gro. Ann is the author of many books, including Moxie for Managers – The Secret to Evolving from Manager to Leader and Why Mentoring Matters – How Leaders Mobilize Relentless Leadership.
Ann has been scouting the remarkable in people since 1995 when she became an attorney for dot.com entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley. There she led over $2 billion of venture-backed financings at two of California’s largest law firms before running the legal department of a public company. During this time, Ann also volunteered for five years as the Director of Entrepreneurial Education Program teaching teenagers how to start and run businesses.
Ann passed the CPA exam upon graduating with an accounting degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law and passed the Bar exams in Illinois and California.
In 2011, Ann cycled from San Francisco to New York City to film a documentary called Work Matters, documenting what people love about their jobs. In 2012, she cycled from Key West to Bar Harbor Maine for her upcoming book, Rousing the Remarkable at Work.
