J.E. MacKenzie

J.E. MacKenzie, originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, has studied and worked in a range of countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Switzerland, India, Italy, France and the Philippines. He is married with three daughters and two sons. "Of Course I Love You, I Just Don't Like You Very Much" was his first, published novel. The range has just been expanded with the release of, "The Clarinet on the Glacier".

Defining "Of Course I Love You, I Just Don't Like You Very Much" is not that easy. It's probably closest to romantic comedy, but the more colorful language and the overall tone of sarcasm, characters hiring a prostitute by accident, blowing up the back garden, or cutting their intimate acts short by getting the runs or dying, just don't tend to happen in your average chick flick.

"The Clarinet on the Glacier" is another tricky one to define in terms of genre. It concerns an expedition to retrieve the world's most expensive clarinet which has been lost on top of a glacier in the Swiss Alps. Very low on sex, violence or romance, it might not look like what most readers are out for. However, it does feature mountain adventure, illegal paragliding, accidental water-skiing and amateur snake-charming. Feel-good and positive, it’s more for the average reader than you think.

What the next work will be remains an open question. It's unlikely it'll be anything needing to be taken too seriously, but if you liked that something different of the first two, keep watching this space.
