Lisa Smiley

Lisa Smiley, born (Lisa McMillan)in Sacramento, California was born to write. Lisa's first novel, The Black Woman Blues, was recently released in August of 2011. Her friends and colleagues are very excited about her debut novel.

Lisa is married to Dennis Smiley and has one daughter, D'misha Smiley. Lisa holds a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

She dedicates her first novel to her deceased sister, Officer Karen McMillan Holmes, who was a California Corrections Officer for sixteen years. Although she has enjoyed teaching grades K thru 12, writing is her true passion.
