Sjaak Brinkkemper

Sjaak Brinkkemper is full professor of Software Production at the Department of Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. His recent books are on Succes in Software Products, Software Ecosystems, and Collaboration in Outsourcing.

He holds a MSc and a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Nijmegen. Prior to joining Utrecht he was a chief architect at Baan R&D and held academic positions at Vrije Universiteit, the University of Twente and the University of Nijmegen, and visiting positions at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Japan).

He has published fourteen books and about 150 refereed journal and conference papers on his research interests: software product development, software architecture, requirements management, release planning, and incremental method engineering. The last three years he obtained four best paper awards. He acquired several million euros of research funding from national and international research funds. He serves on the steering committee of the CAiSE, ECIS, and ICSOB conference series. He is/was a member of the editorial board of Information and Software Technology, MIS Quarterly, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Systems and e-Business Management, and the Journal of Database Management. He is is the initiator and board member of the SoftwareVOC, a research network and knowledge exchange forum for product software companies in the Netherlands.

He is married, father of four children, and enjoys life in his hometown Lieren near Apeldoorn, the Netherlands.
