Byron Williston

Byron Williston is Professor of Philosophy at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Canada and a member of the Interdisciplinary Center on Climate Change at the University of Waterloo. He received a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and has taught previously at the University of Toronto and the University of South Florida. His publications range across a multitude of philosophical figures and topics: Descartes, Nietzsche, Locke, Heidegger, weakness of will, self-deception, the uncanny, reasons for action, the emotions, nihilism, geoengineering, epistemology, and more. Most of his current work is on the ethics and politics of the climate crisis and the philosophical meaning of the Anthropocene.
